Is there anything that isn’t inspirational about Tracee Ellis Ross? When the Blackish star isn’t acting, directing, or fighting for the greater good, she’s getting fiercely proactive about self-care—mind and body.
In a new Instagram clip, Ross, who has become a beacon of workout inspiration over the past few years, not only offered her 6.7 million followers another peek into the calorie-torching routine she’s honed with celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, but offered inspirational words about how she stays motivated.
“When it gets really hard, I just think to myself, ‘It’s not hard, just make space’,” she explains, beads of sweat dripping down her face following a rigorous series of bicep-toning arm moves and butt-sculpting leg lifts. “Make space—make space in your body—make space.”
Alluding to the time constraints many women face today between demanding careers and life responsibilities, Ross emphasizes that prioritizing your wellness is a non-negotiable part of the balancing act. With her rock-hard physique (“This butt .. is the butt I was promised. [At] least it’s the one I asked for,” joked singer SZA in the comments) and galvanizing “make space” mantra, Ross is as empowering as ever.
