DIEGO PEREZ, KNOWN BY MILLIONS ON INSTAGRAM AS YUNG PUEBLO, IS THE
POET OF A NEW GENERATION. His work brings to light the parts of ourselves
we keep in the shadows, and leaves his readers with an overarching sense
of hope and connection. His voice shines in this issue. I had a beautiful con-
versation with Diego about his creative process, his two poetry collections,
and his new mindfulness project, Wisdom Ventures. It was eye-opening
to hear about all the things that infuse his poetry, from his Ecuadorian
heritage to his meditation practice. Diego’s writing speaks directly to the
heart and soul. He has a clarity of mind and a wisdom of spirit that is truly
enlightening, and this issue celebrates that.
TRACY ANDERSON: Your work is very inward-facing, and you explore the self, intimately.
How do you negotiate that quiet self-reflection with the incessant noise of the masses on
social media?
DP: Those are really good questions. I think personally, I have learned that I need to be RICCARDO VECCHIO
